Mobile Alert/Cell-U-Lert Adaptor

Why does the Mobile Alert bracelet flash sometimes when my cellphone doesn't receive a call?

The circuit in the charm is designed to detect any mobile phone in use nearby and in addition will detect other devices using the same frequencies found in mobile phones, as for example, home portable phones working on the 900 Megahertz band.

How do I know when to change the batteries?

With your headphones on, plug the cord into the adaptor. If you hear no beeping tones through your earphones right away, the batteries need replacing.

Where do I buy new batteries?

The coin cell batteries (model 2032) are available in most drug stores, Radio Shacks, some Dollar stores, and Internet battery suppliers. Costs range from under a dollar to a few dollars per battery depending upon source.

How do I turn the Adaptor off?

The adaptor is designed to turn on automatically upon inserting the headphone jack and turn off upon its removal.

Why is there a volume control?

Sometimes you might want to adjust the volume of the alert tone. For example, when you have the volume of the music set very low so you can hear surrounding sounds, you might want to lower the volume of the alert tone so that it isn’t too loud when activated. Conversely, if the music is blasting in the headphones, you might wish to adjust the alert tone to be very loud.

How often should I replace the batteries?

Typically, the batteries should last for months in detection mode, but the estimated battery life is dependent upon how many phone calls are received and how long each one lasts. The best practice to prolong battery life would be to unplug your headphones from the adaptor while you talk on your cellphone. In this way, the adaptor will not need any power to keep the alert tone going while you’re holding a conversation. Once your call is completed, plug the headphones back into the adaptor to activate the detection feature.

Fiberoptic Apparel and Custom Fiberoptic Signage

How do I order a pair of fiberoptic “Kissing Lips Jeans” and how much do they cost?

There are a few dealers who offer these unique creations for sale. Contact info@jfmagic.com for the name of a dealer closest to your location. JF Magic only sells jeans through distributors and dealerships. Typically, these jeans retail around $50.

How do I care for my “Kissing Lips Jeans”?

Washing Instructions

  1. Remove the blue compartment from the “watch” pocket by unplugging the cord attached.
  2. Tuck the cord back into pocket.
  3. MACHINE WASH, GENTLE CYCLE, COLD WATER, LINE DRY. DO NOT USE BLEACH.

Replacing Batteries

  1. Unscrew plug on reverse side of blue plastic battery compartment 1/8” turn. (Coin Cell Type 2032.)
  2. Pry the coin cells out noting their positions with regards to the positive and negative sides (positive side facing up, negative side facing down.)
(Batteries are standard 2032 style used in cameras and may be found at most drug stores, camera shops, and Radio Shack stores. Battery Life approximately 10-20 hours.)

How can I order a coat with fiberoptics with a design that I make up?

Custom jackets, coats, wall hangings, framed pieces, etc. can be ordered directly through JF Magic, however, the cost is quite expensive for the first piece. There are many hours of artistic graphic and software development, custom printed circuit board, labor, and machine time involved. There is almost a mile of fiberoptics in each jacket although the weight is imperceptible.

What would a custom piece cost using the same amount of fiberoptics found in the “Fireworks” or “Starfield” jacket shown?

The first custom piece containing a total of 1000-2000 points of light to define a series of animated frames would fall within the range of $1500-2000. From that point on, the retail cost for the same piece on a jacket, vest, frame, etc. would run about $499. The Fireworks and Starfield denim jackets retail at $499 each.

If I buy a Fireworks coat, can I place my own embroidery on it or add anyone’s embroidery to it?

Of course, in fact we have seen this done by one consumer who bought one and added embroidered Disney characters cut out of another article of clothing. The resulting creation caught the attention of many Disney fans.

If I wear one of these jackets in the rain, will it still work?

The jackets are water resistant and will even function underwater. The battery case is not waterproof, but since it is inside a pocket, rain will not affect the operation of the jacket’s animation functions.

Since the jacket is run by batteries, will I get a shock if it rains?

No, the 6 volts that are necessary to run the electronics of these jackets, jeans, etc. is not sufficient enough power to give anyone a shock.

Glo-Bugz and Floral Stars

How do I turn the Glo-Bugz on?

You must first unscrew the battery case and remove the paper insulator placed inside designed to prevent accidental activations during shipping. Replace the battery holder and depress the switch.

After I removed the insulator, the unit still did not function, what next?

Tighten the battery case further until the unit lights. The battery case is equipped with a watertight seal and the rubber ring may prevent the unit from functioning if it is not screwed on tight.

How long before I need to replace the batteries?

The Dragonfly will typically run 24/7 for 2-4 weeks on one set of “AA” alkaline batteries. The butterfly, however, uses 3 light sources to blend the colors and typically runs only 9 days on the same set of batteries 24/7.

If I put the lighted bugs outside in my garden, will they work?

Yes, there is a stake provided for just such an application, but even though the Glo-Bugz are water resistant, dependent upon the severity of weather conditions (ie. freezing rain, frost, thawing, hail, etc.), we cannot guarantee them under those conditions. As a sidenote, if a few dragonflies are placed throughout a garden, the resulting effect of their blinking appears like they’re flying across the flowers at night. It’s quite a unique visual effect.

Are there any other types of Glo-Bugz besides the blinking Dragonflies and color-changing Butterflies?

Presently the two types are the initial designs offered, but JF Magic will be offering additional “Bugz” in the future. Check back on our website occasionally for updates.
